Our older daughter, Gina, and husband, Dewite North, finally took a break from work and school to pay their first visit to our new home in the Spring of 2000. Here are some of the highlights from a most enjoyable week.

We began the week with stops at the Henderson claims to fame

Even Dewite is dwarfed by this giant Seguaro

Then we ventured into Las Vegas

After proving that she was old enough to be admitted to the casino, Gina was allowed to play the slots (Dewite supervised)

We stopped at several of the newer hotel/casinos
including ...

The Excalibur - inside (above) and outside

the Bellagio (above and below)

and the Venetian

Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and Lake Las Vegas took up another day

One of the most enjoyable evenings was spent at the Luxor where we took in a popular new show - The Blue Man Group

Our front row seats included ponchos to protect our clothes

We also spent plenty of time hanging around the house

 



in the kitchen - cooking and stuff

... at the computer in the library ...

... or with the TV remote from the recliner

or just taking a nap.

Outside, the hot temperatures provided plenty of tanning opportunity whether out on the patio, at the pool or on the golf course.
